Freedom Park at Two Wells
South Australian families can now experience best practice in nature and sensory play at the state’s newest playground which has opened in the northern suburbs.
The new playground, Freedom Park, within Liberty at Two Wells is the latest milestone in a $1.2 billion residential precinct that is creating over 3,000 new homes for South Australians. Offering more than 10,000 square metres of community space, the rurally-themed modern park includes a leading edge nature playground, life-sized chessboard, table tennis table, BBQs, shelters, walking trails and open kickabout spaces.
The playground has toilets onsite but is not fenced.
The playground features:
- Giant treehouse
- Windmill
- Climbing frames
- Water play
- Sandpit
- Barnyard play equipment
- Slides
“We have adopted leading-edge concepts in nature and sensory play stemming from Professor Fraser Mustard, who was a former thinker in residence in South Australia,” said Michael Hickinbotham, Hickinbotham Group Managing Director.
“His whole field of endeavour was for kids being able to learn through play. Kids need to learn to take intelligent and measured risks and this is a wonderful place to start.“A lot of play spaces, they wrap kids in cotton wool … it’s not helpful for kids; it’s an impediment to their learning.
“We want Liberty Freedom Park to be a destination for families and community gatherings that can be enjoyed for generations to come.”

The playground is just near the Two Wells Bakery (76 Old Port Wakefield Rd, Two Wells) which is fab for bakery treats, snacks, lunch and coffee.
