Grazeland – Dining out in Melbourne

They call themselves a playground for foodies and it certainly is! It’s a must visit for anyone who loves different foods.

Grazeland is a festival of food in a permanent destination. If you love the food festivals we have in Adelaide, like the Lucky Dumpling Market or Town Square at Tasting Australia, you are sure to love this place. To give you an idea of size, Town Square had about 17 food stalls, while Grazeland has over 50 stalls. There’s every cuisine from so many different cultures, plus a whole Sweet Street with an amazing choice of desserts!

It’s very family friendly with lots of options (and treats) the kids will love. There’s plenty of space for prams and is accessible for wheelchairs.

Grazeland is huge, and made up of three large pavilions with plenty of tables and chairs, and all under cover. While it is outdoors, there are many gas heaters near the tables to keep you warm. The food stalls are all created from shipping containers and have bright colourful signage.

One pavilion has a gigantic screen playing sports (the footy was on when we visited), another has live entertainment (a small band was playing), and the third one has views to the West Gate Bridge.

Especially for families, there are some stalls selling cute toys, like light up wands, a fairy floss stand, plus a DJ and special disco area just for the kids with bubbles blowing. Twisty chips on a stick is a favourite for everyone.

We’re huge fans of a good food court – it makes it so easy to eat out with kids. Everyone gets to choose whatever they like to eat from different stalls but you can all sit down and eat together. The pricing was surprisingly good with many mains we saw between $16-$19 for decent large serves.

The colour of these pics above and below are due to the stall lights nearby – don’t worry the food was not this colour.

With so many different options it will take many visits to try the amazing variety of food. Some of the things we ate are: Pho Beef Noodle Soup, Seafood Paella, Papardelle Beef Ragu, Japanese Soufflé Cake, Crepes with Nutella & Ice Cream.

Everything was delicious and we can’t wait to get back there next time we visit Melbourne.
