Heritage Transport Expo | Port Adelaide | 11 & 12 Oct 2025
Visit the National Railway Museum on the last weekend of the October school holidays for the annual Heritage Transport Expo.
The annual Heritage Transport Expo 2025 will have lots of memorable and rare transport examples on show as well as many to ride on. This year they will also have some other kindred heritage transport groups join them, such as Pichi Richi Railway, SteamRanger, St Kilda Tram Museum, SA Maritime Museum and the Clipper Ship Adelaide, with their stalls. A selection of private classic motor vehicles will be on display too.
The SA Bus Preservation group will again be a popular attraction with two history rich buses on display and two additional old heritage buses doing brief trips around the streets of Port Adelaide – all rides are free!
Their 1950s style diesel railcars will again be taking visitors for rides – the classic country Bluebird on Saturday and the suburban Redhen rattlers running on Sunday. And, like the bus rides, unlimited rides on these trains are all also included with admission.
BUB the little blue steam train will be running around the site all day on both days and again all rides are included with admission.
Plenty of on-site catering will be available with Prospect Scouts hosting a BBQ and West Lakes Rotary with food and drinks in the old Café carriage.

Admission tickets include unlimited steam train rides, 1950s railcar rides and bus rides.

You can now catch an Adelaide Metro train straight to the Port Dock with trains running every 30 minutes and pulling up at the National Railway Museum.
