In an IKEA first, IKEA are inviting children from around the world to co-create a new limited edition soft toy collection.
IKEA is launching this exciting competition this weekend where children are asked to draw their dream toy – to be submitted for a global competition – with the top 10 global winners having their toy produced and sold by IKEA stores worldwide late next year.
IKEA Adelaide will have 10 winners selected following the entry period, with those entries going to IKEA Sweden for judging.
As part of the annual Soft Toy for Education campaign, which sees 1 euro from every soft toy sale go to UNICEF and Save the Children, this new initiative celebrates the creativity of children around the world. Marketing Manager of IKEA WA and SA, Nigel Richardson said “The Soft Toy Drawing Competition is a great way to encourage kids to explore the limitless possibilities of their dream soft toy.”
The Soft Toy Drawing Competition is open to children aged 2 to 12, with entries opening from September 27 and closing on Sunday 26 October, 2014. “The top 20 drawings from IKEA WA and SA will go into the global draw, to be judged in Sweden, where 10 drawings will be selected, produced and sold in every IKEA store around the world,” Mr Richardson said. “In order to select the top 20 drawings across SA and WA, we’re calling on our customers to vote in store from Saturday 8 November to Sunday 23 November to select the finalists.”
The winners of this special drawing competition will be announced in early January 2015. The new limited collection will then be launched in late 2015 throughout IKEA stores worldwide.
