Immersive Worlds 360° Full Dome Experience | Adelaide Fringe 2026 | Review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars for a fun and immersive experience that feels like an adventure into another time and place.
Review by Mel Louey
Immersive Worlds offers a fun, easy adventure that’s perfect for families. We experienced The Great Solar System Adventure – a 360° Full Dome experience at Olympia House, near West Terrace in the Adelaide CBD. It’s a great option if you want to enjoy the Fringe without having to dodge the crowds. You can always head to a Fringe hub afterwards for the rides, food and buzzing atmosphere, but this spot gives you a great starting point.
Inside Olympia House, you’ll find a large planetarium-style dome. Once you step inside and settle in, the experience is projected across the entire ceiling, creating a world around you. There are chairs at the back, but the big comfy beanbags on the floor are where the magic happens. If you can, arrive a little early and grab a spot near the middle for the best view.

The show we saw followed a group of cute cartoon characters heading off on a tour through space. Starting at a funfair before blasting off, the adventure swirls through the solar system, taking you up close to the planets – and very close to the sun (“We’re going to be burnt to a crisp!” one character exclaims).
The visuals have that fun, slightly surreal feeling that sits somewhere between cartoon and lifelike, so younger kids won’t find it scary, but it still feels like you’re really travelling through space. At times, the graphics feel surprisingly realistic, creating the sensation that you’re actually flying through space as the images swirl and move across the dome around you.

One of the great things about Immersive Worlds is the variety. There are several different 360-degree dome experiences to choose from, including space adventures, nature journeys and underwater explorations. They also offer VR experiences (recommended for ages 12+), with themes ranging from deep-sea diving and space missions to creative virtual worlds.
Practical perks for families: parking around Olympia House is easy, and there’s plenty of room for prams in the entrance area.
Overall, Immersive Worlds is a simple but really enjoyable Adelaide Fringe outing. It feels a bit like stepping into a short adventure – the kind where you switch off from the outside world for a while and get swept somewhere completely different. It’s short enough to hold younger kids’ attention, but still engaging for older kids and adults, too.
