Construction Begins for New Variety Children’s Zoo at Adelaide Zoo
It has been announced that construction for Adelaide Zoo’s exciting new Variety Children’s Zoo is now underway.
The $1.1 million project will have kids connecting to nature like never before thanks to the interactive and immersive precinct adjacent to the ever-popular Nature’s Playground. Once construction is completed, quokkas, critically-endangered bettongs, goats and many more adorable animals will make the move to the new and improved Variety Children’s Zoo.

Become a Children’s Zoo Founding Member:
Is a child in your life a budding zoologist? Would they love to connect with nature in our new Variety Children’s Zoo?
Your child can become a founding member of the Variety Children’s Zoo for just $160.
Variety Children’s Zoo Founding Members will enjoy:

Be the face of the Children’s Zoo:
Imagine your child, grandchild or loved one walking into the incredible new Variety Children’s Zoo and saying ‘I supported this and my picture is here to prove it’. A larger-than-life art installation made up of the many amazing faces of our zoo community will be created as part of the Children’s Zoo development.
Images of participants will be combined into a breathtaking representation of the zoo’s most iconic animals, which will take centre stage in the new children’s zoo development.
For $50, your child, grandchild, loved one or pet can be the face of Adelaide Zoo’s new immersive children’s precinct.
