Oceanic Victor In Sea Aquarium | Victor Harbor

Oceanic Victor

Experience life beneath the waves in Victor Harbor.

Oceanic Victor opened their in-sea aquarium in Victor Harbor, South Australia in 2017.  Located just off Granite Island in the clear, clean waters of Encounter Bay, the experience offers fun, learning and excitement for the whole family.  Perfect not only for adventure seekers, but for anyone wanting to encounter the fascinating life found beneath the waves.

A short trip on Oceanic Victor’s luxurious catamaran will deliver you to their in-sea aquarium and the opportunity to swim with Southern Bluefin Tuna.  The aquarium provides a safe and exciting marine environment where you can explore the fascinating and diverse marine world through hands-on experience.  For those who don’t want to get up close and personal with these incredible fish you can still feed the Tuna or venture below the surface in Oceanic Victor’s glass-sided underwater viewing area.

Operator Mick Dyer says

“The Oceanic Victor in-sea aquarium will allow visitors to get in the water and up close and personal with magnificent Southern Bluefin Tuna and a broad range of other indigenous marine species from the local region,”

“But this is not just an aquarium. As well as providing a great tourism experience for South Australians and visitors to the State, we will be introducing educational programs for school children; facilitating study and research opportunities in conjunction with universities; and revitalising the environmental and ecological base of Granite Island, which has suffered a sad decline in recent times.”

Mr Dyer said Oceanic Victor also planned to restore and re-open the Granite Island Café, which has been closed for several years.

Oceanic Victor currently offer:

  • Aquarium Swim
  • Guided Nature & Penguin Tour
  • Coastal Tour

Aquarium Swim

The Aquarium Swim involves diving with tuna and swimming with other diverse fish species, a children’s marine touch tank or watching from an underwater observatory.  They also have a sausage sizzle if you’re hungry and hot and cold drinks available for purchase on the platform.

Guided Nature & Penguin Tour

Oceanic Victor offer a guided tour around the beautiful North Shore of Granite Island as the Little Penguins come home from a day on the ocean to return to their burrows. Tours start just before dusk and last 1.5-2 hours.

Coastal Tour

Tours depart from Granite Island screw pile jetty and explore the wonderful coastlines surrounding Victor Harbor.  You can relax and enjoy the views from the panoramic windows of the luxury twin-deck tourist vessel, explore the coastlines and experience the wildlife in the surrounding areas.  Trips depart daily (subject to availability) and are approx. 90 minutes long.
