Jaycee Park Playground in North Haven is a fully fenced playground with something for everyone.
Jaycee Park is located just south of the North Haven Marina, between Lady Gowrie Drive and the coastal bike and walking path. It’s a fully fenced, fully shaded playground with accessibility features and there’s a toilet and cafe nearby!
Review by Claire Davill
There are child locks on the fences and the whole playground contains smooth rubber soft fall.
The equipment includes an accessible ramp up to both levels. The ramp end of the equipment is great for toddlers, with low platforms, a tiny climbing wall, animal panels and a small slide.
You’ll find a rope bridge, block steps and monkey bars at this end too.
The high platform end of the equipment has climbing pads and a double slide for racing against friends.
There are tethered ropes and stepping stones that have quite a bit of height in them to challenge older kids as well.
There are two swings in the playground, one suitable for toddlers and one with a seatbelt and handles suitable for bigger kids and those with mobility needs.
Just to the south of the playground is some exercise equipment that’s also fun to use. Note this is not within the fenced area of the playground.
Toilets are available further south at the Beach Haven Cafe.
Things to Consider:
- The coastal bike and walking path passes this playground, making it a great spot for a stop during a bike ride
- The toilets are located approximately 100 metres south of the playground, and you will need to cross the driveway into the marina.
- There is a picnic shelter and barbeque located just outside the fenced area.
Our favourite nearby coffee spots/cafes:
The Beach Haven Cafe is located 100 metres south of the playground. It’s open from 8am-2pm Wednesday-Sunday and serves coffee, drinks, sandwiches, cakes and other breakfast and lunch options.
