Joe Wells Reserve Playground | Netley | Review

Joe Wells Reserve Playground is a tiny park filled with nature play equipment in a quiet setting.
Review by Claire Davill
Tucked away in Netley, on a quiet residential street, is this lovely little nature play-based park. With climbing logs, a stone cave and a giant wooden nest, it feels like a miniature version of the Mukanthi Nature playspace at Morialta.

The playground sits in a basin surrounded by scrambling rocks, reached by climbing up an earthen mound. There are plenty of native plants here, including a Xanthorrhoea to add to the nature theme.

The central equipment includes log ladders, a climbing net, a teepee-like platform and a slide.

Nearby is a small stone cave, with a large wooden nest on top for imaginative play.

A basket swing is also included.

Just outside of the basin is a water play area with a pump, stone channel and sand pit. A wooden bridge crosses the sandpit in the middle.

Things to Consider:
- This is a very small park, with few facilities and is not suitable for long plays.
- The Netley Kindergarten sits adjacent to the park, so it may be busy between 8am and 3pm on weekdays.
- The park is not fenced, so you will need to keep an eye on little ones.
Location:
Comet Avenue, Netley. The park is adjacent to Netley Kindergarten.
