We have discovered a sweet new collaboration in the South! Kibbi’s and Urban Desserts are teaming up on Friday nights, combining their expertise in flavour sensations and food creativity to bring you the ultimate in dessert bars.

Kibbi’s
Situated on Beach Road at Christies Beach, Kibbi’s trades as a café during the day but also offers event catering that specialises in gorgeous gourmet Grazing Tables and Grazing Boxes. Owner Kirra has a talent in putting together the most colourful, seasonal, local, fresh and nutritious food. There are also plenty of dietary alternatives such as gluten and dairy free, as well as vegan and vegetarian.
We love the vibrant wall art and bright, modern design of the interior of the cafe, and the staff are super friendly.
Urban Desserts
If you haven’t tried one of Jeremy’s unbelievable creations yet, you are missing out! It is almost impossible to walk past his Urban Desserts kiosk at Colonnades Shopping Centre, without admiring the latest delectable desserts on offer. Masterchef worthy, these intricately designed desserts are themed and rotated monthly, with a few favourite exceptions that are available all the time. Urban Desserts are also available at Kibbi’s café during the day.
Friday Night Desserts at Kibbi’s
Luckily for us, we can now get the best of both worlds, with Kibbi’s opening on Friday nights from 7pm until 10pm. Not only are these fabulous creations by Kirra and Jeremy incredibly delicious, they are also a feast for the eyes with their vibrant colours and clever designs. Featuring sweet treats made by Kirra as well as Jeremys Urban Desserts, this place is heaven for everyone with a sweet tooth!
If you are bringing kids along, there are a variety of toys to play with to keep them occupied while they wait for their food to arrive.
There is a selection of Urban Desserts to choose from the display cabinet or food from the Kibbi’s dessert menu on a Friday night.
The display cabinet pieces are stunning, each Urban Dessert is like a work of art. There is a choice of different flavours that is sure to please everyone. The colours are so vibrant and the details are so intricate they are almost too pretty to eat!
We love the Milo flavoured dessert, its our favourite, with its crunchy base and chocolatey centre. We also tried one of the Christmas specials which was just as good, with its choc mint candy cane flavour.
On the dessert menu, Kirra has come up with mouthwatering pancake and crepe creations, as well as dessert shakes and fondue platters. Be warned though, go there with an empty stomach because you are going to want to finish these super yummy generous serves!
We tried the Nutella Stack, Citrus Stack and Strawberries and Cream Crepes. Everything was super fresh, the addition of fruit gave a nice pop of colour and we love the crunch of the upside-down ice cream on top of the pancake stack for something a bit different.
We gave everything we ate here 5 out of 5 stars; presentation, flavour, serving size were all perfection!
Our kids also loved the dessert shakes! We tried the Oreo Shake and the Unicorn Shake. These are like a meal on their own, so if you are visiting with younger kids, keep in mind they may not be able to finish it all.
Other than the dessert shakes, there are also fresh juices, smoothies, coffee, tea, soft drinks and milkshakes to be enjoyed. We tried the juices Tutti Fruity and Watermelon Crusher. We loved the freshness and flavour that contrasted the sweetness of the desserts we were eating. Even these drinks were presented beautifully!
TIP: Booking and Car Parking
Booking is a must if you are planning on eating in at Kibbi’s on a Friday night. With a small, intimate dining area, it fills up fast. Booking can be made by calling Kibbi’s directly or through their Facebook page via Messenger. Take away options are available as well. Car parking is plentiful with a designated car parking area out the front of the venue, or there is also street parking as well.
With long warm nights and kids on holidays, it’s the perfect time to take the family out for a treat. So why not take a visit to Kibbi’s so you can taste these amazing desserts for yourself? And as a bonus, only a few minutes away at the end of Beach Road is a playground and beach for the kids to burn off all that energy afterwards!
