The picturesque rose garden at Mercedes College will transform into a festive French fete on 8 April 2018 when it hosts its bi-annual community day, La Fete Francaise.
From berets to baguettes and everything in between, the free community event will offer the whole family a taste of Paris with stalls run by the students, fun games including pétanque and wet sponge throw, carnival rides, sideshow alley amusements and of course delicious food.
Visitors will also be treated to musical performances by students and old scholars, adding to the Parisian atmosphere.
Mercedes College Principal Peter Daw says it’s set to be a highlight of the events calendar with staff, students, old scholars, families and the general community coming together to enjoy a relaxed day filled with plenty of fun and the finest in French fare.
Proceeds from the day will help to fund the school’s planned High Performance Space – a new multi-purpose building that will include a fully equipped sports gym, event and performance space.
