Legally Blonde the Muscial – Presented by Scotch College Adelaide
Seventy performing arts students at the College (including 59 cast members and 11 musicians and backstage crew) are currently preparing a musical adaptation of 2001 American comedy film ‘Legally Blonde’. Year 11 students Laura Williams and Onor Nottle will share lead role duties as ‘Elle’ (originally performed in the movie by Reese Witherspoon).
A fabulously fun international award-winning musical, Legally Blonde: The Musical, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams.
This action-packed musical explodes on the stage with memorable songs and dynamic dances. Equal parts hilarious and heart-warming, this musical is so much fun it should be illegal!
Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside down, however, when her boyfriend dumps her so he can start getting serious about his life and attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle uses her charm to get into Harvard too. At school, she struggles with peers, professors and Warner Huntington. With the help of Paulette and Emmett, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.
This year’s Scotch College production follows the success of other public musicals in recent years, including:
- Pirates of Penzance,
- West Side Story,
- Jesus Christ Superstar,
- Les Misérables; and
- 42nd Street.
