Lennane Orchards Cherry Farm | Review
The much awaited cherry season at Lennane Orchards provides the perfect setting for family fun and delicious cherry flavoured treats.
Review by Angelica-Hazel Toutounji
Lennane Orchards is located in the picturesque Montacute Valley and is only five minutes from the eastern suburbs and twenty minutes from the Adelaide CBD. The location in itself makes it a convenient option to pick up fresh, quality cherries direct from the farm. You drive through suburban Newton and all of a sudden you are cruising along windy roads and find yourself in a beautiful country setting surrounded by tree lined hills bursting with cherry goodness. It is idyllic, relaxing and a lovely destination for an afternoon drive.

Whilst this cherry farm doesn’t offer cherry picking as an activity, it does boast a lovely little café, ample lawn to run around on and a small playground and sandpit for kid to enjoy. The playground features monkey bars, swings and a decent sized sandpit with construction themed toys for kids to enjoy. Next to the playground is a big red tractor too.

The setting is absolutely lovely and there are so many places to sit down and enjoy a sweet treat. There is seating indoors and outside under the vines and shade cloth, plus tables, chairs and umbrellas dotted all over the lawn. There is also plenty of green grass space to plonk a picnic rug. There is a cabinet filled with cakes, fresh fruit blended ice cream and a selection of drinks including Verso L’Alto coffee, smoothies, warm drinks and a very delicious organic cherry berry iced tea. Right next door to the café is a table set up where you can purchase cherries to take home which are priced based on variety, size and amount.

So if you are seeking an outdoor summer adventure the whole family will love, a nice spot to enjoy a drink whilst the kids play, don’t miss out on visiting Lennane Orchards during cherry season.
