Love, Stephy Dessert Café – a gem in the heart of Adelaide’s Hindley Street
For those of us that grew up in Adelaide, Hindley Street is probably low on your list of places that you would think of to indulge in an extravagant high tea, arrange to meet your friends for coffee and cake, or take your children for a special sweet treat.
But, times are and have been changing, and there’s now some impressive café’s, bars and eateries popping up on this infamous strip, slowly transforming it from drab to fab!
We were given a tip-off. A place on Hindley Street that we HAD to try and, WOW, we were so glad we listened.

It was like stepping into a fairy tale
This little gem is Love, Stephy Dessert Café. Walking in was like stepping out of a black and white movie straight into an enchanting and colourful fairy tale.
The décor is exquisite. Roses and greenery are everywhere you look (make sure you also look up at the ceiling). Your usual (boring) window seating has been switched up to include cute 2 person tables, each with a set of hanging chairs.
The middle tables have the most comfortable plush pink chairs, and then you eye the desserts. They’re sitting, waiting for you, calling your name from the front viewing cabinet….and you fall in love with Love, Stephy.
It’s honestly a little girls delight and a welcome surprise for anyone that walks through their doors.
Their desserts are drool-worthy pieces of art.
Some look too spectacular to even eat. There are a few of their special treats that contain alcohol, but these are all noted. And the cheesecake needs a mention, although not as fancy as the other desserts, it was to die for (I’m still dreaming about it)!
Things to consider
Love, Stephy is cute and cosy
Love, Stephy Dessert Café is cosy. It’s not somewhere that we’d recommend having a child’s birthday party, for example. But it is somewhere that we would recommend you take your special people for a unique treat that they won’t forget in a hurry.
Love, Stephy also arrange a variety of fanciful high teas and special occasion days – so keep watch of their Facebook or Instagram for those, and get in quick!
You can also order incredible birthday cakes, a minimum of 3 days notice is required.
If you’re looking for that perfect spot with a touch of something different then Love, Stephy Dessert Café on Hindley Street needs to be on your list.
