School Tours – Mercedes College Adelaide – Nurturing Young Learners
Reception students enrolled at Mercedes College are set-up for lifelong learning through the College’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme.
The co-educational Catholic school incorporates the globally renowned programme with the Australian curriculum to provide students with a world-class education and subjects most relevant to young people today. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) for Junior School students focuses on the holistic growth of children, by introducing enquiry-based learning to develop globally-minded, active and critical young thinkers.
Establishing this learning framework in the primary years builds a strong foundation for students to move into the Middle and Senior Schools and enables continuity of learning across their entire schooling.
“Our learning environments are designed to stimulate and develop knowledgeable, caring and compassionate young people,” said Mercedes College’s Head of Junior School, Kellie Osborn.
“The IB programme fosters opportunities for our internationally minded students to grow their confidence, and critical and creative thinking.”
“A strong sense of community is nurtured in the Junior School with an emphasis on the pastoral care of each student and their ongoing wellbeing. Our students flourish because they believe they can succeed.”
