Mini Float Winner for the 2024 National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant.
Primary school children have the chance each year to win an exclusive experience at the annual National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant by getting creative and designing a mini float. They submit a minimum of one full-colour, hand-drawn or digital drawing of the mini float design, or create a model mini-float to enter.
A mini float is a small mobile set that is light enough to be pushed or pulled along the Pageant route.
The streets of Adelaide will come alive with the joyful buzz of Christmas when the winning design of the 2024 mini float competition, ‘Bee Merry,’ joins the 92nd National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant! Designed by Lia Mewett from Ardtornish Primary School, the float will take to the streets of Adelaide for the event on Saturday 2 November 2024.
Lia’s imaginative design, chosen from over 400 entries, depicts a whimsical beehive nestled among grass and flowers, surrounded by characters dressed in bee and honey pot costumes. ‘Bee Merry’ will bring a new layer of festivity to this year’s Pageant, where it will be showcased alongside 170 other theatrical sets in the southern hemisphere’s largest public parade.
As one of the judges of the competition, we are always so excited to see the mini float brought to life by the clever elves at Stardust Castle. They have done an exceptional job!
