Eko Nugroho
INDONESIA
Acclaimed Indonesian artist Eko Nugroho is known for his sense of playfulness alongside deep reflection and commentary of the socio-political issues of contemporary life in his country.
For OzAsia Festival, Nugroho will create a new large-scale outdoor work to hang across the entrance of The Art Gallery of South Australia on North Terrace. This bold and colourful work will be a beacon signalling the arrival of contemporary Indonesia across the art and cultural institutions on North Terrace. To complement Nugroho’s installation, a display of his works from the permanent collection are in Gallery 21.
