The team at the Islamic Society of SA invites you to National mosque open day 2016.
The event encourages intercultural dialogue through entertainment, education and the opportunity to have a detailed tour of the Marion Mosque in Park Holme. It is a chance to correct misconceptions, stereotypes and ignorance about Islam and instead build an understanding of the religion and relationship with the Muslim community.
The day’s program includes tours of the mosque with detailed explanations about the site’s significance to the community and the particular design and features of the building. Information sessions will guide guests through the fundamentals of Islam including topics most talked about today such as Halal Food. Public and private information sessions will allow visitors to ask questions in order to address common misconceptions about Islam.
Entertainment for the kids will include colouring-in sessions, jumping castles and a child care area. Henna art, calligraphy and traditional food will also be part of the program all day for people to come and enjoy.
