This year’s Mt Barker District Show is bound to be an exciting event for the whole family to enjoy. Featuring indoor and outdoor exhibits, market stalls, showcasing local arts, crafts and foods, farm animals, cooking and produce exhibitions, as well as the traditional fun of the carnival amusements, rides, clowns and bouncy castle and the rest, the 2014 Show is bound to be the best ever!

Country shows have such a charming atmosphere, and a large part of this is due to the free entertainment and activities provided for all ages to participate in.  Exhibits this year include Art and Photography, Cookery and Preserves, Family Pets, Farm Produce, Flora, Livestock and Rural Ambassadors who aim to highlight the importance of youth in rural South Australia.

Clover Leaf Trail

For those who have visited the Royal Adelaide Show and participated in the Yellow Brick Road, this is the Mount Barker District Show’s version. It’s great fun, and good value for money!  You simply purchase a bag at the start and following a map provided, you visit the participating stalls (which are clearly numbered on map and stall), to receive your special goodie. This is a children’s favourite as they enjoy the adventure of following their map, collecting their bounty, and marking off each stall as they go.

There is also a special prize draw for those who complete the whole Cloverleaf Trail by visiting every participating stall. To gain entry into this draw simply return your marked off map to the start of the trail.

Market Stalls

At this year’s Show there will be an exciting selection of market stalls to browse through, from homewares and jewellery, to cake pops and children’s clothes, fresh produce and plants. You are guaranteed to see some fantastic stalls, full of interesting wares to delight all ages.

Food

At the Mount Barker District Show they have a delicious selection of food on offer for adults and children alike.  There are shaded eating areas, complete with tables and chairs for your comfort. These are located close to entertainment too, so be sure  to grab a bite to eat and kick back while you watch the Show unfold around you.

In this time of extreme heat and lack of rainfall, The Mt Barker Show is very pleased to be able bring you the presentation “The Art of Restoring Your Garden’s Soil Moisture Reservoir”  by John and Julie Barrie.
