Mt Barker Science Fair 

The Mt Barker Science Fair is a mix of family favourites and brand new attractions to delight and engage all ages. Watch an amazing chemistry show by Nitro Nat, laugh at Marty McBubble’s incredible Bubble Show and learn about the quirky native animals from Animals Anonymous. Plus get your groove on with some fabulous dinosaur entertainment from Professor Flint. And yes, there will be slime… and VR.

Crazy Colourful Chemistry Show
There’s plenty of bang, colour and fizz in this show. Nitro Nat loves to set things on fire and make lots of mess, all in the name of science of course.

Native Animal Show
South Australia’s very own wildlife warriors, are on stage along with a collection of their animal friends. Learn about these animals, their habitats and how to protect them.

Dinosaurs Down Under with Professor Flint
Singing palaeontologist Professor Flint will keep the young uns enthralled with his slightly unorthodox but fabulously entertaining teachings about dinosaurs.

Scientific Bubble Show with Marty McBubble
Marty McBubble will amaze you with his incredible bubble creations and the scientific wonders that make them possible. With quirky gadgets and plenty of comedy Marty will create some truely crazy bubble creations.

Robotic by Roboroos
If your child loves robotics, spend some time with the Roboroos. It’s a must! Check out their designs and learn about their competition teams. They do crazily clever robotics designed to excite young minds.

Electron Microscopes
The kids will be captivated when they see the unseen world around us with these powerful electron microscopes. The world class equipment will inspire learners to seek out even more.

Virtual Reality Arcade
Play the state of the art gaming machines and explore the VR world all around you.

STEM brain teasers
How many patterns can you make in this good old-fashioned brain-teaser? There are thousands of ways to solve it! Head over and test your problem solving and creativity skills. It’s a very entertaining challenge.

STEM Toys by Switched on Kids
Educational toys help satisfy young minds and are loads of fun. Switched On Kids can help your kids grow their imagination.

DNA and you
All budding scientists need to understand DNA. So bring them over to learn about the code of you!

KESAB Environmental Solutions
Drop in and learn about how your family can reduce waste and help contribute to a healthy environment and sustainable community.

Dinosaur Palaeontology and Craft
This is dinosaur craft at its finest. Assemble giant wooden bones to make the largest dinosaurs puzzles ever (or at least in Adelaide). Then get really crafty and create your best dinosaurs on card.

Gadget Design and Programming
Ever wondered how that solar panel switched on, or how that traffic light worked? ​Design and programming are great skills to learn. For the kids of all ages who love gadgetry!

Made by Nature
Take a break from the devices and check out the natural world around you. Look, feel and listen to these fantastic exhibits. Animals, insects, fossils, plants, planets and stars; there’s so much to learn!

The Slime Bar
Head over to the slime bar and let kids get their hands dirty, while you stand back and sip a latte.

Questacon Challenges
Stand back and watch your child work on their problem solving techniques. Enjoy their “AHA” moment as they figure out a range of challenges.

Daleks in the House
The Doctor might not be in the house, but the Daleks definitely are! Doctor Who fans old and young can admire these life-size models. Young builders can even try their hand at building their own mini-Dalek.

Electric Circuit Station
​This will take you back to your childhood. If you’ve got a budding engineer or maker, you’ll have to drag them away from the circuit station!

Bugs n Slugs
Discover a magical world of bugs and slugs. Find out who’s living in your backyard. Learn about the life stages of these incredible animals and how to protect them.

Animals Anonymous up close
​​Watch, touch or hold or your favourite Australian animals. Talk to Adrian and his team of wildlife warriors about their important work to protect our native creatures.

Mysterious Marine Creatures
Use VR to go underwater and hunt for treasures in the sand. The most fun you can have at the beach, without being at the beach!

Tickets: Adult (15 years +) $12 | Family (2 adults + 2 children) $29 | Child (3-14 years) $6 | Infant (under 3 years) Free)


Entry to event
To ensure the event is COVID-safe, entry to this event is by a pre-purchased ticket only. Tickets will not be available at the door. Only 1000 tickets are available for each session. On the upside, this gives your plenty of room to view the exhibits.
