Multicultural Storytime
Come and experience Multicultural Storytime in English and Mandarin: a session full of music & song, presented by the School of Chinese Music & Arts. Multicultural Storytime is a fun way for young children to learn bilingual rhymes.
The Adelaide City Council Libraries are pleased to announce that City Library will be working with the School of Chinese Music & Arts and Multicultural SA to present their first ever bilingual storytime sessions over the next few months.
Join Zhao Laing from the School of Chinese Music and Art for the bilingual storytime sessions!
Zhao and her harp will entertain and educate children by singing rhymes in English and Mandarin.
The aim is to build social cohesion and community harmony, as families build mutual understanding for one another through enjoying songs and nursery rhymes from each others’ culture. Additionally, the project will welcome members of new communities to participate and see their culture being accepted in public, and develop their sense of belonging in Australia.
