This event will again see a number of mosques around the country opening their doors to the wider Australian public. National Mosque Open Day aims to go some of the way to improving social cohesion and breaking down various misconceptions and misunderstandings, by providing an engaging opportunity for education and discourse between Muslims and non-Muslims.
Throughout the day guests are able to enjoy activities for the children, food, henna, calligraphy, traditional clothing stalls, information sessions and more. See below for the full program:
The event will be community-centred, with entertainment, food, information sessions as well as tours of the mosque and opportunities for Q&A with religious elders on the day at the Islamic Arabic Centre, otherwise known as the Al Khalil Mosque.
