National Simultaneous Storytime 2022

National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).

Every year, a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.

Now in its 22nd successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children’s book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.

How to Participate:

This year NSS takes place on Wednesday 25 May 2022 at 11am and they would love it if you could join them. Everyone can join NSS, it doesn’t matter whether you are at home, a school, a public library or even a university library.

This event takes place online.  You will receive an email on Monday 23 May 2022 with links, downloads and all the information you’ll need which will be available for the duration of NSS week until Friday 27 May 2022. This will also include instructions for joining the live event.

About the Book:

Family tree is a sweet book written by Australian singer and songwriter Josh Pyke. To purchase the book, head to the Scholastic website.

The beautiful illustrations were completed by Ronojoy Ghosh.
