Oakbank Easter Racing Carnival 2026 – A Celebration of 150 Years of Racing, Tradition and Family Fun.
This Easter celebrate 150 years at Australia’s largest picnic race track, Oakbank Racecourse, where the racing carnival takes place on Easter Saturday and Easter Monday, offering a vibrant atmosphere for racegoers of all ages.
One of the Carnival’s unique highlights is the flexibility to enjoy catered food and beverage options or you are welcome to take your own BBQ and BYO drinks to the picturesque hill in the track’s centre.
The Easter Racing Carnival is one of South Australia’s premier social and sporting occasions, with the annual pilgrimage to the Adelaide Hills track a family tradition for many that goes back generations. Families love the freedom of taking along their own picnics, and by the time racing begins the car park is awash with marquees, tents and barbeques as families and friends soak up the unique country racing atmosphere. There are also onsite camping options as well.
Oakbank Easter Camping
For families wanting to stay over the long weekend at the campsite bookings are now open. You can camp onsite overlooking the iconic race course, sitting around a fire enjoying your Easter with family and friends. All campers will need to purchase Raceday passes (U18’s free).
There is fun for all ages at this picturesque Adelaide Hills racecourse, including:
- BYO picnicking in the middle of the track
- A variety of great food vans including coffee, savoury snacks, meals, and indulgent sweets
- Multiple bars stocked with chilled locally crafted SA beverages and crowd pleasing favourites
- Live music
- Entertainment, activities and amusements for the kids
- Stables hosting all the Carnival’s stars of the track

- 10.30am – 5pm (gates open 7am)
- Tickets are $33 online or $40 at the gate
- Children under 16 enter free

Full day of metropolitan racing, kids amusements and entertainment on the event stage, fashion at the races contest and an after race concert.
Oakbank Easter Monday
- Monday 6 April 2026
- 10.30am – 5pm
- Tickets are $22 online or $25 at the gate
- Children under 16 enter free
- Community Cup Day

Easter Monday – Community Club Cup Day with 8 races and amusements for the kids. Please Note: – Middle of the course is CLOSED for Easter Monday, however you can still park and enjoy a picnic with family and friends on the day from the home straight car park.
