Open Day at Croquet SA – 100 Years of Croquet
It’s Open Day at Croquet SA! Help celebrate their centenary and try some croquet at their state headquarters on Hutt Road in Adelaide (corner Glen Osmond Rd).
Equipment and help to play will be provided. Prizes for best period costume so don your top hat and head on down. Flat enclosed shoes are needed to play.
The South Australian Croquet Association was formally opened on May 1st 1918 by the Lord Mayor of Adelaide Mr. C.R.J. Glover in the south parklands. The original clubhouse was only a few hundred metres from the current location at the corner of Hutt Road and Glen Osmond Road. Today there are around 1000 members and 35 clubs in South Australia.
Croquet has become a sought-after tactical sport that can be played by all ages. So why not have a go?
FREE croquet can be played between 10am and 4pm. Prizes for the best period costume. Morning and afternoon tea, lunch and refreshments available.
Please Note: There are no EFTPOS or ATM facilities at the club, cash only.
