Parfitt Square Playground | Bowden | Review

Parfitt Square Playground – quiet, shaded playground with plenty of shady lawn and forest to explore.
Review by Claire Davill
Bowden has lots of winding, narrow, quiet streets, and Parfitt Square sits in amongst these streets, surrounded by old cottages. It feels like you’ve gone back in time! The square has a lovely partially fenced playground, toilets, barbeques and picnic shelters, and a large expanse of lawn shaded by gum trees and pepper trees, as well as a couple of troll bridges for good measure.

The playground includes a climbing frame and tube slide suitable for older children. This equipment includes climbing nets, rope balance beam, climbing walls and a rope bridge.

The second piece of equipment is better suited for toddlers and small children. This equipment includes two small slides, plank bridges, steps and climbing nets and a play shop.

You’ll also find two swings, a cockatoo springy seat and a small seesaw in the playground area.

There is a toilet just outside the playground area, and barbeques and picnic tables nearby.

There’s also some lovely native animal paintings bordering the playground.

Things to Consider:
- The playground is only partially fenced, so keep an eye on little ones.
- The playground is naturally shaded by trees, which means at certain times of the day, some equipment may be in full sunshine.
Our favourite nearby coffee spots/cafes:
- Lunar Landing Cafe is a 230 metre walk away, on Hawker Street.
Location:
121 Drayton St, Bowden. Off street parking is available on Fourteenth Street at the north end of the park.
