A great workshop for the whole family, Steven from Wagtail Urban Farm will explain the benefits of living with one of the most miraculous animals on the planet, the humble compost worm. During this practical workshop you will learn how to provide an optimal environment to keep the colony alive through the heat of Summer and the chill of winter, as well as what to feed them, where to position their home, when to rest them and the best uses for their magical by-products.
Also, Steven will show how worm farms can be incorporated directly into your veggie garden or wicking bed (worm towers / bio box etc). Option to take home a starter colony on the day and watch as your kitchen scraps get turned back into food on your plate faster than ever before!
Please dress appropriately. This is a practical workshop with an outdoor component.
