Gather your friends and family in your private igloo, feast on Raclette cheese and drink mulled wine for this melted cheese foodie experience.
It’s a French winter tradition to melt Raclette cheese and pour it on potatoes, cured meat and pickles. More than just a meal, Raclette is a social event. This traditional French dish is a celebration of melted cheese and conviviality.
Friends and family gather around the Raclette grill, sharing stories and laughter as they savour the delicious flavours. This warm and cheerful atmosphere is what makes Raclette such a beloved tradition in French culture.
This May and June, Adelaide diners can gather friends and family in a private igloo, feast on Raclette cheese and enjoy a fire pit for this unique dining experience at Festival Plaza.
The igloos can accommodate 6 or 8 people.
Are kids allowed in the Igloos?
Kids are welcome at the event and children who are under 6 years old can eat for free. Just remember that for groups with children, a minimum payment for 6 people is required, and the maximum group size is 8 guests including the kids.
There is also a non-alcoholic version of mulled wine made with grape juice, as well as other soft drinks available, so everyone can enjoy the festivities together.
Inside the Igloos:
The igloos include a beautifully set table with sliced Racelette cheese, charcuterie and pickles on a board, potatoes in a bain marie, mulled wine in an urn and a Racelette grill ready and warmed up on the table. Next to the igloos will be a warm fire pit and some wood.
How it Works:
Eventgoers can melt their own Racelette the way the French do. It’s up to you how you eat it, whether it’s over the potatoes and charcuterie or on the plate by itself. They also provide some giant marshmallow skewers for dessert to roast over the wood fire pit.
Session Times (10 May – 9 June 2024):
- Wednesdays – Thursdays | 5pm or 7pm (dinner)
- Fridays – Sundays | 11:30am or 1:30pm (lunch) or 5pm, 7pm or 9pm (dinner)
