Adelaide Remembrance Day Service at the South Australian National War Memorial
At 11am on 11 November 1918, the armistice, signed by Germany earlier that morning, came into effect, finally signifying the long-awaited end to the war. As soon as the news was known, cities and towns around Australia erupted into celebrations.
11 November 2019 will mark 101 years since the end of World War 1.
The RSL SA State Branch will hold a Commemorative Service marking the Great War Armistice in 1918 (Remembrance Day) at the South Australian War Memorial. The public are welcome to attend.
Road closures will apply to North Terrace and Kintore Avenue prior and until after the service.
Public Transport:
North Terrace will be closed between King William Street and Pulteney Street between 10.15am and approximately 11.30am.
Many Adelaide Metro services will be required to detour during this time with several stops closed. See the Adelaide Metro website here for more information.
