Road & Cycle Safety Centre Opening to the Public in January 2022
The Road & Cycle Safety Centre, located on Hazel Grove in Ridgehaven, is undergoing a $500,000 makeover to provide FREE public access.
The Road & Cycle Safety Centre makes learning how to ride fun for children of all ages. The enclosed open space has a mini-road network which gives children a real-life experience as they learn how to ride in a safe and controlled environment.
From January 2022, the centre will be open for free public use each Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday and public holidays. Birthday parties bookings are available on Saturdays. Private education sessions and programs are available to schools and other community groups each Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The upgrade includes a new 20-space carpark and boundary fencing, creating a safe place for residents to access during daylight hours and at no cost. Landscaping works will occur in early 2022.
A grant of $220,000 was received from the Australian Government for this project. Council funded the remaining $280,000 for the works.
