The construction of the new Salisbury Aquatic Centre is now underway in preparation for opening in 2024.
The Salisbury Recreation Precinct is currently closed for renovations and is due to reopen as the exciting new Salisbury Aquatic Centre on Monday 24 June 2024 (the tennis courts and surrounding reserve is still open to the public).
Redevelopment of the Salisbury Aquatic Centre, which is nestled within the picturesque natural setting of Happy Home Reserve, is co-funded by the Government of South Australia. The new and improved facility will provide a diverse range of aquatic, health and leisure services to the community.
The design of the aquatic centre was informed by a comprehensive community consultation process. In addition to very strong support for a new aquatic centre, the consultation highlighted the community’s desire for the new centre to provide opportunities to swim for fun, fitness and education (swimming lessons). The most requested facilities included an indoor warm water pool, water slide, café, picnic area and water play, in addition to a strong preference for an outdoor 50-metre pool versus an outdoor 25-metre pool.
This brand-new facility will feature:
- Warm water program pool
- 25m lap and leisure pool
- 50m outdoor lap and leisure pool
- 10m triple waterslide tower
- Splash pad and waterpark
- Fully equipped gym
- Group fitness
- Picnic area and café
The new aquatic facility will operate all year round and will also include landscaping improvements plus an upgraded car park and pedestrian links. This exciting new centre is being constructed by local South Australian builder, Mossop Construction + Interiors.

The Salisbury Aquatic Centre will open its doors from Monday 24 June 2024 with the initial round of exclusive membership offers going officially go live today at 12pm. The first 200 people to sign up for the Foundation Membership will receive full health club and aquatic access for just $16 a week, a huge 20% off the normal price. Following this, two further exclusive pre-sale opportunities will be offered at limited numbers before opening general memberships.
Foundation Members will enjoy unlimited access to the Salisbury Aquatic Centre’s health club and aquatic facilities, group fitness classes, functional training and more. There will also be other membership options for those wanting something specific, like aquatic use only.
Learn to Swim programs for children of all ages will be offered at the Centre, and those looking to enrol can register their interest now.
