South Australian Youth Arts (SAYarts) – Now Enrolling for Term 1, 2015
SAYarts run after school and weekend acting and theatre workshops throughout the school term (in the tradition of Urban Myth), as well as school holiday programs. All classes have a performance outcome. The focus at SAYarts is on group devised creative work that comes from their students’ imaginations and play.
SAYarts is based in the old school buildings at St Augustine’s Church at 183 Unley Road, Unley (corner Edmund Avenue). They are easily accessible by public transport and there is adequate parking around the area.
Classes cater for 5 year olds through to 95 year olds! You can find all of the available classes of offer listed on the SAYarts website.

Little Tackers
The ultimate introduction to the amazing world of theatre – tailored to suit any child with imagination. Tutor Claire Glenn will play games galore and begin working towards a pint-sized end of term performance outcome.

Tackers
Theatre games, improvisation and all the tools of theatre craft are shared by Claire Glenn in this class designed for the next generation of SAYarts performers. Play and fun are encouraged! Enjoy a performance at the end of term for parents and friends!

Making Theatre
Join award winning theatre maker Sean Riley as he leads you through the inspiring roller-coaster of creativity that is making theatre. Devising, script work, and story telling meet in this class that has proven a success for over 20 years! End of semester work-in-progress show and tells, begin preparing for a performance outcome in 2016.

Shaken & Stirred
A delicious cocktail of theatre styles: Spend time exploring and making all kinds of theatre from Greek Theatre to Pantomime, Puppetry to Street Theatre. A performance for family and friends at the end of term.

Creating Character
An introduction to character creation, lead by accomplished director and actor Michael Allen who will guide you through techniques and methods from Stanislavsky to Laban – exploring text, subtext & scene work. This pairs well with The Moved Play, and an opportunity for the class to work towards performance exists.
