Schützenfest Adelaide 2023
The original Schutzenfest by The German Club Adelaide (SAGA/SAADV), The Adelaide Schützenfest is one of South Australia’s most popular annual events. It is a fun filled day of traditional German fare and drinks for the whole family.
Adelaide Schützenfest is the largest ethnic festival in the Southern hemisphere and an opportunity to immerse yourself in German culture, with authentic German food, slap dancing performances, cultural sites, souvenirs and much more.
Translated from German Schutzenfest means ‘Shooting Festival’ and goes back to its German roots with a traditional Vogel shoot. The South Australian German Association (German Club) was established in 1886, with an aim to promote, encourage and foster German language, culture, habits and social life in Australia.
