SHANX Mini Golf @ Paralowie | Review

Shanx Mini Golf @ Little Para is a fantastic mini golf experience for the whole family, where you’re playing on a course that looks like a regular golf course, but shrunk down to putting size!

Review by Claire Davill

The Little Para course is the second mini golf offering by Shanx, with the first course located at Regency Park. This course offers a similar experience, with each hole designed like a miniature golfing green. You’ll be playing on the “green” (short artificial turf) while trying to avoid the “rough” (longer artificial grass) and even “sand” bunkers (white artificial turf – no sand in your shoes!).

Getting yourself set up to play is easy. At the pro shop you can select your putter, with different colours for different sizes. It’s recommended to try a putter that reaches your hip. A variety of golf ball colours are available to choose from too, which makes it easy for each member of your group to keep track of their own ball. Grab a pencil and scorecard, and head out to the gate and to hole one.

Rules are included on your scorecard, but they’re not restrictive. As long as you aren’t holding up people behind you, or running or entering the garden areas, you’ll be fine.

Each hole is clearly labelled with a numbered post and the tee off areas are marked with slightly raised squares of turf. You can easily see your target at each hole and moving from one hole to the next is easy, with the course following an intuitive path.

The whole course is nicely compact, no long walks needed, and the course is completely fenced.

The course is full of gentle slopes and winding greens, and it can be hard to judge the distance and slopes on some holes. This means you might find them challenging, or you might accidentally score a hole in one! None of the holes are too tricky for kids, while still providing some challenge for adults.

There is a patio area next to the golf course where you can sit and eat, or play some cornhole with beanbags.

What we like about Shanx Mini Golf @ Little Para:

  • This is an activity that all ages can enjoy, from the smallest toddlers to competitive teenagers and adults
  • The area is compact and fully fenced, making it easy to keep an eye on little ones
  • The quality of the greens is top notch, no crimped carpets or torn turf here
  • Pricing is reasonable, and kids under six can play for free
  • Evening sessions are available, with festive lights strung over the golf course
  • No need to worry about the weather – if it’s raining on the day of play, you can reschedule at no cost

Things to consider:

  • This is an outdoor venue with little shade, so bring hats and sunscreen when necessary
  • There is music playing from outdoor speakers on the course (a well curated playlist in our opinion – lots of positive, upbeat songs)
  • Allow around 1 hour to play all 18 holes, longer if you have very small children
  • Book online to access cheaper pricing, with discounts for groups of 4 or more

Coffee and food options nearby:

The pro shop sells snacks, ice creams and drinks, and you can even order food via a QR code from each hole on the course. There are tables and bean bags next to the pro shop.

Location:

Little Para Golf Course, 62 Martins Road, Paralowie
