Shmochi by Shibui & Kytons Easter Hot Cross Bun Sando

Adelaide’s cult-favourite dessert destination, Shmochi by Shibui, for the very first time, is serving up a playful twist on a classic this Easter with the launch of its limited-edition Hot Cross Bun Sando, created in partnership with iconic South Australian bakery Kytons.

Blending Kytons’ beloved traditional hot cross buns with Shmochi’s signature small-batch ice cream, the collaboration transforms a nostalgic Easter staple into a creamy, spiced, indulgent dessert.  The original decadent Hot Cross Bun Ice Cream Sando, will feature house-made ice cream layered between soft, spiced hot cross bun halves for the ultimate Easter dessert experience.

Founder Thy Nguyen says the collaboration between the two local businesses felt like a natural fit.

We wanted to take something everyone knows and loves and reimagine it in a way that feels fun, nostalgic
and uniquely Shmochi. Kytons is such an iconic South Australian brand and we are excited to work together to
bring this to life. Our team has been working hard to create ice cream and dessert flavours that reflect the love we have for
Easter and tradition. This is not the only Easter creation we have on the cards and we can’t wait to share the rest with our
community.

They have a range of other ideas in the pipeline to continue their collaboration to bring new flavours and ideas to the community. 

The Hot Cross Bun Ice Cream Sando will be available for a limited time only over the Easter period, exclusively at Shmochi by Shibui from Tuesday 3 March 2026 until the end of Easter.
