Somerton Squash Centre Open Day – Kids Come and Try Free
On Sunday 17 January 2021 Somerton Squash Centre will hold an Open Day with the aim of getting kids involved with a free “come and try”.
Activities will be provided with free racket and court hire along with a sausage sizzle, cupcakes and juice boxes. There will be some squash coaches giving kids pointers, and even some non-squash related games and activities for the kids. Or you can be left alone on one of the 7 courts to practice hitting the ball and see what squash is about.
The emphasis of the day is on fun, family and fitness.
Bookings not essential.
About the Somerton Squash Centre:
Somerton Squash Centre was built in 1958. The building was about to be sold to developers to bulldoze it, leaving the community of squash players to either retire or move to one of the few remaining squash centres further away. However, it has now been bought by a new owner who is looking to add new facilities and develop juniors into this great game which was so popular here in Australia once upon a time.
