Speed Friending
A night of speed friending in a fun and supportive environment.
Are you interested in making new friends? Campbelltown City Council are excited to present a free social event for people 18+ on the autism spectrum or who experience social difficulties. This event has been organised by people on the autism spectrum and with lived experience.
Please note this is for over 18s only.
Schedule:
- The first half of the evening will feature speed friending. You will get 2 minutes to talk to everyone at the event and make new social connections
- After the speed friending there will be food and drinks (non-alcoholic)
- Later there will be opportunity to socialise with the people you have met
- There will be a live DJ at low volume, with the ability to move to a quieter space if you prefer
- There will also be activities including board games, art and more.
Accessibility and Support:
- The event is wheelchair accessible
- If you experience sensory challenges there will be a quiet space indoors and outdoors
- If you are socially anxious they will have some prompt questions to help you start conversations
- You can leave the event at any time that suits you, you don’t have to stay until the end
- If you have any concerns the friendly volunteers will be easily recognisable and available to support you
- You are more than welcome to take a support person – make sure that they also register for the event due to COVID requirements

They can provide suggestions of what to wear if you need. If required, bring your own noise cancelling headphones, fidget toys etc.
