State Theatre Company Summer School
Held from 10-14 December 2018, the State Theatre Company Summer School is for students aged 15-17 years who are interested in devising theatre.
Dan Aubin from Daring Humans will lead young people in “Making something from nothing?” – a comprehensive workshop that will help students learn how to draw on their own experiences and surroundings to create theatre. Participants will look at a variety of ways to create images, text, movement, engagement and story for live performances as individuals and groups.
Students will also be given the opportunity to hear from State Theatre Company Sound Designer Andrew Howard, Head Electrician (Lighting) Sue Grey-Gardiner, and a set designer from the professional production team.
This is an exciting opportunity for young people to receive practical experience in devising and creating theatre from recognised artists in the industry. The program provides excellent preparation for students undertaking drama at a SACE 1 – SACE 2 level or for those looking to further their theatrical skills.
The program will be held at E.S. Wigg & Son at 79 Port Road, Thebarton.
Cost:
Summer School costs $175 per student.
