Colossal Creatures are at Adelaide Zoo these Summer Holidays
You can see them between 26 December 2018 to 28 January 2019.
The dinosaurs have returned to Adelaide Zoo this Summer and this time they’ve brought a few friends with them – gigantic bugs. This is the third time we’ve had the dinosaurs visit over the years and we always love seeing them.
The 15 creatures are animatronic so have some movement and make noises too. See our Facebook video below to see some of them in action.
The huge dinosaurs will have the kids in awe – check out how tall the Brachiosaurus is!
The one that will have the most people wary, is the gigantic huntsman spider. He’s very hairy and will definitely give arachnophobics a chill. He’s in the bamboo forest area at the entrance to the Panda exhibit in case you don’t want a scare.
There are some cute bugs like the one above, and be sure to look up at this soaring dinosaur below.
It’s a great adventure for the kids to follow the map, or you can follow the dinosaur footsteps all around the Zoo to find each one. There are a few right near the nature’s playground so the kids can play and be near them.
At each creature you can read some info about them and learn some interesting facts.
If you don’t visit the Zoo very often then this is a great time to do it. It just makes the visit extra special to see these fab creatures, and it’s included in the normal admission ticket price.
My kids have enjoyed seeing the dinosaurs every time they’ve visited, and always remember their experience – although funnily enough, they seemed a little smaller to Miss 13 this time (a side-effect from growing much taller).
It doesn’t matter that a few have visited before, the kids still enjoyed seeing them again.
