Stirling Fringe | Adelaide Fringe 2018 Review
The Stirling Fringe is great for those looking for a unique fringe experience, but on a smaller scale. Stirling is only a 10-minute drive from the toll-gate up the freeway so it is very easy to get to and parking is easy and free.
Venue
The Stirling Fringe is set on the Coventry Library lawns, an inviting hub for outdoor gatherings and events. This is a small, relaxed, grassy space with plenty of chairs, tables and rugs for those looking to linger and enjoy the atmosphere and live music. There is also ample shade under the huge oak tree plus tables and chairs with umbrellas to seek shelter from the sun.
Food & Drink
This year, there are some great food and drink options catering for crowds and all of them feature locally-produced products from local businesses. This includes the Uraidla Brewery, Uraidla Hotel, Loca Pop Ice Blocks, local wineries, and Miss Perez.
Fun for Kids
This is a great venue with a very family-friendly feel. It is very easy for parents and kids to relax here as the kids can run around, jump onto one of many wooden see-saws, or play free games on the grass.
There are shows happening on the weekdays during the day which are suitable for younger kids while school-aged kids can enjoy shows at 4.30pm or 6.30pm after school. This is fantastic for those that may have had busy weekends, but want to squeeze in a show and dinner.
The weekends are jam-packed full of shows catering for everyone and there is also program catering solely for the adults from 9.30pm on various evenings.
Show Venues
This year there are two tents, The Pocket and the Rastelli hosting 38 different shows. They are air-conditioned and intimate allowing audiences to easily feel a part of the show.
So, if you are keen to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, the Adelaide Hill’s town of Stirling is a fantastic place to appreciate the Fringe and enjoy quality time with family and friends.
