Welcome to Summer Festival 2024!

The 2024 program will kick off on Saturday 6 January and will include 6 FREE family-friendly events.

Get ready to roll out your blanket, soak up the sun, and enjoy all that is Summer Festival. Whether you’re looking to relax with the smooth tunes of local musicians or run wild with the free entertainment on offer, Summer Festival has something for everyone in the family.

This year you can expect open air cinemas, live music, giant water inflatables, finger-licking food and some very big trucks…That’s right – after its popular debut in 2023, ‘Touch-a-truck’ is back!

Saturday 6 January – Open Air Cinema

**EVENT DETAILS CHANGED***

Due to the inclement weather conditions, the planned screening of The Super Mario Bros. Movie (PG) will no longer be outside, but never fear, the movie will be screened inside the West Torrens Auditorium from 7.30pm. Other programmed free entertainment will continue inside the Hamra Centre Library, including the early screen of The Boss Baby (G) at 5.30pm.

Saturday 13 January – Open Air Cinema

Enjoy another night of great tunes and free children’s entertainment before family favourite movie, Paddington 2 (G) at 8.45pm.

Grab a treat from the food trucks, savour something from the sausage sizzle or pack your own picnic and soak in the summer evening.

An early screening of DC League of Super-Pets (PG) will also be showing inside West Torrens Auditorium at 5.30pm.

Saturday 20 January – All Together Now

Make sure you practice your best dance moves because tonight is all about the music!

Tour the world through the global sounds of Farhan Shah, Sun of Africa and Jambu Loco.

Kids can join in the Amazing Drumming Monkeys show, have their face painted or try out circus tricks with PLAI.

5pm – 9pm | West Torrens Memorial Gardens, 165 Sir Donald Bradman Dr,  Hilton 

 

Saturday 27 January 2024 – Splash!

Splash! is aimed at 0 – 17 year olds and their families.

Dive into The City of West Torrens community’s warm weather favourite, Splash!

Slip and slide on the giant water slides or embrace the mess with Climbing Tree’s mud activities. Be sure to wear your bathers, pack your towel and bring a change of clothes.

Food, coffee and ice cream will be onsite for purchase.

9:30am – 1:30pm | Mellor Park Reserve, Myzantha St, Lockleys

 

Saturday 3 February – Touch-a-truck

Are your children fascinated by big vehicles? At Touch-a-truck, kids of all ages can get up close to lots of different vehicles, meet the amazing people who drive them, and ask questions about how they work!

9:30am – 1:30pm | Kings Reserve, Meyer St, Torrensville

 

Saturday 10 February 2023 – The Kings Fork

The City of West Torrens community’s favourite food festival returns to Kings Reserve!

Explore the world one dish at a time, with more than 20 of Adelaide’s best food trucks to choose from. This foodie festival will also have a range of lip-smacking beverages on offer.

Enjoy the live music and get the kids involved in the many free activities… including the giant inflatable slides!

A free screening of How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (PG) will also be held inside Thebarton Community Centre at 5.30pm.
