VAILO Adelaide 500 | 14-17 Nov 2024

The VAILO Adelaide 500 will bring Adelaide’s city streets alive from 14-17 November 2024 with exciting Supercar racing, plenty of off track family fun and HUGE blockbuster concerts.

Celebrating 25 years in 2024, the family friendly Adelaide 500 is Australia’s largest domestic ticketed motorsport event and is the season finale event for the Repco Supercars Championship.

Last year an estimated 260,700 people flocked to the VAILO Adelaide 500 over four days – about 2500 more than in 2022.  It was the biggest crowd at the event since 2018 and included fans who visited from overseas and interstate as well as South Australia.

Two major off-track additions will wow fans in 2024 with the NAPA Speedway, Sprintcars in the City, and Round 3 of the FOX Australian Supercross Championship taking place at the iconic Adelaide Street Circuit.  Adding to the four days of world class motorsport and entertainment lineup where Adelaide will once again become the mecca of motorsport, the explosive NAPA Speedway will attract the world’s best drivers on dirt to the city for the first time.

Over both Thursday and Friday nights, competitors from the US and Australia will battle it out in their 950 horsepower Sprintcars (with a power-to-weight ratio higher than Formula One) for qualifying, heats and a feature race that promises some of the world’s most jaw-dropping motorsport for fans.

In another VAILO Adelaide 500 first, the top level of Australian Supercross racing will converge within the street circuit for the Australian Supercross Championship featuring the Boost Mobile Supercross Sprint, with world-class riders entertaining fans and families alike on a signature track, featuring lightning fast-turns and heart-stopping jumps.

Taking place on a custom built full-sized Supercross dirt track, VAILO Adelaide 500 racegoers can take in the race action and atmosphere from the existing and beloved heritage grandstand, or temporary grandstands purpose built for the best view of the Australian Supercross Championship racing.

For the first time in Australian Supercross history, one championship point will be awarded for the fastest lap in each in SX1 and SX2 final, incentivising faster and more intense racing action, with riders throwing everything they have at each race.

AFTER RACE CONCERTS

The popular VAILO Adelaide 500 After Race Concert Series is set to open to a bumper post-race crowd, with Crowded House announced as the headline act for Saturday 16 November 2024.  In a first for the event, the Australasian band will take to the stage to perform their hits, igniting music and motorsport fans alike as the event celebrates 25 years.

Closing out the event, the VAILO Adelaide 500 After Race Concert Series is set to fire on all cylinders with rock royalty Cold Chisel to perform on Sunday 17 November.  Cold Chisel are celebrating their 50th anniversary and are bringing “The Big Five-0” concert tour to the VAILO Adelaide 500. Cold Chisel will take a lap around Australia before culminating in the city where the band formed.

Saturday 16 November 2024
