Adelaide Zoo and Illuminate Adelaide present Universal Kingdom: Prehistoric Nights this July!
Step back in time and into the Mesozoic Era to a land where puppets, lights and dinosaurs collide.
In a brand-new experience and a night not seen for millions of years, prepare to be electrified by the first in a trilogy exploring the prehistoric era. Brought to you by Adelaide Zoo and Illuminate Adelaide with presenting partner SA Power Networks, witness the evolution of the first creatures to crawl from the world’s vast oceans and some of the largest beasts to ever roam the planet.
Featuring state-of-the-art puppetry, new purpose-built installations, and a whole host of light and colour, renowned creative studios Erth and A Blanck Canvas join forces to craft this sprawling prehistoric world. Wander in a sea of floating bioluminescent jellyfish, see playful Plesiosaurs frolic with their hatchlings, and even come eye-to-eye with Australia’s own sharp-toothed Megaraptor, the fearsome Australovenator.
Highlighting Earth’s first extinction events and the importance of conservation preventing the next, visit this dinosaur dynasty with their intrepid keepers as your guide through an illuminating night of exploration and fun!

Relaxed sessions | Sunday 14 and 21 July 2024
Zoos SA is committed to providing a welcoming and accessible environment.
Relaxed session includes; an earlier twilight start time, reduced capacity, lowered volume on installations and reduced human noises. Visitors attending the Relaxed sessions are welcome to stay and explore for the evening but should be aware that the 6.30pm sessions will be at standard event capacity.
