Wild Earth Oceania Film Festival 2024

The Inaugural Wild Earth Oceania Film Festival will be held in Adelaide from 16-21 January 2024 with a family-focused program.

Discover a realm of wild favourites, including the Australian Rock Wallaby, Vienna’s enchanting Beavers, and the beloved Platypus, plus there will be an incredible chance to meet real Australian wildlife at each family screening.

Witness nature’s marvels on the big screen, captivating your kids and bringing them face-to-face with Australia’s amazing wildlife.

The Wild Earth Oceania Film Festival will showcase 68 incredible films over 23 sessions pertaining to Wildlife, the Environment, Indigenous culture, and Natural History with expert Q&A panels afterwards over 6 wondrous days.

FAMILY PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Sea Lions, Beavers, Bugs & Babies

  • 18 January 2024 | 12:45pm – 2:45pm

In this gorgeous family friendly session they invite you to journey with them and Sam Neil, exploring the life of a Sea Lion, wonder at the marvel of beavers living happily with humans, see the magic of bugs through animation, and be inspired by baby Kiwi birds on the move.

Beauty & Wonder

  • 20 January 2024 | 6:15pm – 8:15pm

The four films in this session will take you from Australia to Panama on a journey to find out about ways that people are taking action to protect nature around the globe.

Platypus Guardian

  • 21 January 2024 | 3:30pm – 5:30pm

When local mountain biker Pete Walsh stumbles across a bizarre creature in an urban waterway his life is about change forever. He soon forms a bond with the animal he names Zoom.
