Puppy Yoga Classes with Yoga Paws Adelaide | Review
Adelaide’s newest wellness craze pairs gentle yoga with playful puppies, creating a fun, feel-good experience for anyone aged 12 and up.
Review by Carla Caruso
You’ve probably heard of animal cafés in Tokyo, where you can sip coffee while interacting with hedgehogs or owls. But have you ever heard of puppy yoga?
Adelaide now has its very own version, thanks to Yoga Paws Adelaide – and yes, it’s every bit as adorable as it sounds. Held in a cosy Erindale studio, puppy yoga blends a gentle, beginner-friendly yoga class with a whole lot of doggo playtime.
For one magical hour, you’ll stretch and unwind while wriggly little pups wander the room, sometimes padding across your mat, curling into your lap, or deciding your shoelaces are the best toy ever. When we visited, a tumble of seven-week-old golden retrievers stole the show.

Of course, concentrating on your downward dog (ha!) while puppies play-fight nearby is easier said than done. Expect laughter, a few squeaky toy sound effects, and the occasional ‘puppy puddle’ (which is cleaned up quickly by staff armed with paper towels and disinfectant).
But the joy of the experience is exactly that. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or a total beginner, the focus is on fun and connection rather than perfecting your poses.
What sets Yoga Paws apart is its commitment to animal welfare. The sessions are designed around the puppies’ needs first. For the pooches, classes include rest breaks and plenty of water, all within a calm, supportive space where they can safely explore and build confidence.

Yoga Paws partners only with reputable breeders and rescues that prioritise the animals’ wellbeing. Each session helps prepare the puppies for life in their future homes by exposing them to new sights, sounds, and people in a positive way.
For the humans, it’s a serious serotonin boost. You’ll leave smiling, a little sweatier than expected, and probably covered in puppy hair, but it’s worth every moment. At the end of class, there’s ten minutes of dedicated puppy cuddle time, which is as heart-melting as it sounds.

Puppy yoga runs every Sunday in Erindale, with sessions released three weeks in advance. It’s suitable for ages 12+ and books out quickly (no surprise there).
Whether you’re looking for a fun new way to exercise, or just an excuse to roll around on the floor with puppies, Yoga Paws delivers Adelaide’s cutest wellness class. Sink into the stretches and enjoy the puppy cuddles – you’ll walk out feeling lighter than when you came in.

What we like about it
It’s genuinely fun and relaxing – yoga doesn’t feel like a workout when you’re surrounded by playful pups.
Sessions are designed with both humans and puppies in mind, so everyone has a safe, low-pressure experience.
Beginner-friendly, so you don’t need to be a yoga pro to enjoy it.
The Erindale studio is clean, welcoming, and well-prepared for puppy chaos.
Things to consider
It’s suitable for ages 12+, so younger kids will need to wait for another day.
Puppies aren’t fully toilet trained, so expect the occasional accident (which staff clean up quickly) and a few doggy smells.
The class can get a little chaotic if you’re easily distracted. You might not nail every pose!
The breed’s a surprise until the day of your session, making every experience unique.
Sessions book out fast, so plan ahead and secure your spot early.
