Yorke Peninsula’s Saltwater Classic

All aboard for a classic weekend on the peninsula!

Yorke Peninsula’s Saltwater Classic is a community-based event designed to tap into growing a national and international appreciation and enjoyment of wooden and classic boats. These vessels have been faithfully restored by their owners to showcase the skills and designs of boat builders from last century. The Saltwater Classic is open to sail and power boats, but with a focus on classic craft.

Since 2003, Yorke Peninsula’s Saltwater Classic has grown in stature to become an important tourism event in the region attracting visitors from across South Australia and interstate. Participants and visitors enjoy parades of beautiful boats in the waters off the sister towns of Stansbury and Port Vincent, along with a variety of water-based and shore-based attractions including foreshore markets, vintage cars and motorbikes, amazing old engines that powered the past, local art, craft, sumptuous local produce and live entertainment.

The next regatta will be held on the weekend of 21 and 22 April 2018. While the focus is on Stansbury and Port Vincent – less than three hours drive from Adelaide – visitors are encouraged to venture on to other tourism playgrounds on Yorke Peninsula.
