30 Things To Do Before You’re 10 | by a 10 year old
We see a lot of lists of things for kids to do. Usually they are compiled by adults, thinking of ideas they consider to be fun for children, based on their own experience growing up, and of what they think their kids enjoy doing. I wondered what the list would look like coming from a child, so I asked Miss 10 if she would compile her own list of ‘Things to do before you’re 10’. She thought hard about what things she has enjoyed doing in her first 10 years of her life, and what she considered were great things to try by this age. She originally came up with about 50 things, but honed it down to 30.
Many things on the list I expected, but there were some surprises which I would not have thought of, if I were doing a list. It’s a great way to get an idea of the experiences your child holds dear – a little peek into their heart; a snapshot time capsule of experiences at 10 years. You may consider doing those activities more often. The list could be referred back to, as a personal ideas board, if you are ever stuck for something to do – there’s a pretty good chance your child will enjoy doing it.
