Soldiers Memorial Reserve Victor Harbor Playground Review
Soldiers Memorial Reserve is a beautifully kept park with everything you could need for a fun family outing. Located by the seaside along The Esplanade at Victor Harbor, it’s a great spot for picnics or gatherings as there’s plenty of space and good facilities.

Soldiers Memorial Reserve Playground is a beautiful place to spend time with family or friends. We visited Victor Harbor and had kids in the car who needed to stretch their legs, so we stopped off at this playground to let them run off some steam.
Our playground testers had to be dragged away from the play equipment here and have been asking to go back.
Soldiers Memorial Reserve offers BBQs, undercover seating areas, new clean toilets (which include baby change facilities), easy parking – and it’s right on the beach.
Kids will have fun exploring this picturesque reserve with its rows of iconic Norfolk Pines (commemorating World War 1) and Canary Island Date palms dotted along the path, and enjoying the play equipment at Soldiers Memorial Reserve Playground.

Nature Play Elements
Soldiers Memorial Reserve Playground was designed with nature play elements including the bluestone used in the tunnel structure, which symbolises Kondoli the Whale from the Kondoli Creation story.
“Kondoli hid the fire in this stone when he went to participate in a special Corroboree with his neihbouring Ngarrindgeri people. They wanted his fire, no one else had fire except Kondoli. So the fire is in this stone. If one piece is smashed against another then sparks fly”
A cubby house inside the base of a tree made a shady spot to hide.

Exploring Victor Harbor playgrounds
There are a number of great little playgrounds along the foreshore at Victor Harbor, so if you have a bit of time on your hands you could do a bit of a ‘playground hop’.
11 minute walk approx. to Victor Harbor Skate Park (BYO bikes or scooters!)
4 minute walk approx. to Victor Harbor Train Park
Things to see and do in Victor Harbor
There’s so much to see and do in Victor Harbor – whether you’re wanting a day trip out of Adelaide, or a longer holiday.
The Causeway Plaza area is the main hub for Victor Harbor’s tourist facilities such as the entrance to the causeway to Granite Island. There’s a kiosk for refreshments, mini-golf, camel and the historic horse-drawn tram.
