Barossa Fringe
What better way to kick off Adelaide Fringe 2020 than in Australia’s premier wine region?
Wanderlust Greenock 2020 | Murray St Greenock | Friday 14 February at 5pm-9pm
Go along to Wanderlust 2020, transforming the village of Greenock, gateway to the Barossa Fringe, into a meandering Gallery of Visual Arts. The town will open its arms, doors and streets, inviting visitors to stroll Greenock’s town centre, indulging and celebrating local art, food, wine and entertainment in true Barossa style. Recycled material costumes, flag and sculpture making workshops with The Bait Fridge. Take the kids and catch roving youth performances through Wanderlust Greenock or party with Guru Dudu Silent Disco.
Juggling vs Magic | Barossa Regional Gallery | Saturday 15 February at 10am
They’ve got three rounds to show off all their best tricks before YOU vote to decide the winner. One performer will rule as king of kids entertainment – the loser gets slimed. Will sleight of hand steal the show? Will circus tricks grab the gold? It’s up to YOU! Audience participation is everything in this high energy battle royale. You won’t believe your eyes. All ages welcome.
Barossa Fringe Launch Party | Saturday 15 February at 2 – 7pm
Go along to the Barossa Fringe opening weekend for a regional program like no other. Kicking it all off will be a town party in Tanunda, complete with local wine, food, entertainment and tunes, and special activities for young folk across three popular hotspots.
Celebrate in style at the Tanunda Town Square, where Melbourne cabaret superstar Tash York is your sparkling MC for the afternoon. Party along with Adele tribute sensation Erin Jae, Amelia Ryan’s 80s Baby, and live local bands, while enjoying street food, drinks from Black Cat Gin, Rehn Bier and La Bise Wines, and decadent treats from Barossa Valley Chocolate Company.
Young folks (and the young at heart) will find special treats at the Tanunda Rotunda including busking, face painting, craft activities and hoola hoop demonstrations from Yoga-play.
Or, relax at the Valley Hotel with a beverage and some laidback local tunes and let the afternoon roll by. Explore local music, cabaret, art and comedy at multiple venues in the Barossa Fringe’s four day program of events.
Barossa Wellness Wonderland | Coulthard Reserve | Sunday 16 February at 7:30am – 4pm
The day kicks off with a Colour Trail run/walk at Coulthard Reserve. The Wellness Wonderland (starting at 9:30am) across the road at Coulthard House will feature kids yoga, fitness, activites and delicious food. A completely free event with no tickets required.
Cool 4 Kids Music Makers Band | Barossa Arts Centre | Sunday 16 February at 1pm
Igniting everyone’s passion for music and creativity, they will perform a swarm of popular hit songs that will have your hips swinging, toes tapping and body shaking with happiness. Including the most amazing, interactive and fun, educational games, this is one brilliant non-stop, action-packed, entertainment spectacular. There will even be several opportunities for audience members to join and perform with the band live on stage.
