Big Tops & Tiny Tots Circus Show at the Adelaide Fringe | Review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars

Review By Sharon Harrington

A high energy, silly circus adventure that might even get your tots to eat their broccoli!

As we entered Gluttony, my little girls were immediately drawn to a charming woman with two long brown plaits, stripey knee high socks and a big smile touting her upcoming show. As it turns out she was the entertainer, Luth Wolff, that we were to see later that afternoon and she had won them over before the show even started.

The success of this one-woman circus extravaganza is hinged on the buzz and connection Luth makes with the kids. This is a show designed especially for 3-7 year olds and they LOVED it!

The kids are seated on the floor directly in front of the stage, while parents watch closely from the seats behind. This is a perfect set up to keep the kids engaged, as they have her undivided attention and can see all her comical expressions throughout the performance.

This show is very silly and very fun, just what the target audience is after. Luth combines slapstick humour and circus skills with ease. One moment she is using a skipping rope while riding a unicycle, the next she is balancing the unicycle from her chin! There is a hula-hooping session with an ever increasing number of hoops, juggling, plate spinning, a little bit of magic and a healthy eating message that had the kids squealing out “broccoli” with delight (I need to learn that trick at home!).

I asked my 4 and 5 year olds what their favourite part of the show was and they both were in agreement on the magic trick where she swallows a light and it comes out the other end! I think that was my husband’s favourite part too… Can’t beat a little bit of toilet humour!

If you are looking to soak up some family Fringe atmosphere with a show that will get the kids up and involved while having loads of laughs, Big Tops and Tiny Tots will fit the bill nicely. My little ones were absolutely delighted with her crazy antics! Highly recommended.
